The Comparative Clinical Effectiveness Research (CER) is funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). PCORI primarily focuses on engaging patients, caregivers, and the broader healthcare community in every aspect of the research it funds. But who governs PCORI? Learn all the details about PCORI in this blog.
The advisory panels in PCORI review and provide inputs on critical research questions. The funding application process for PCORI brings patients, researchers, and other stakeholders together, for identifying high-quality, scientifically rigorous studies.
The research funded by PCORI is mainly focused on addressing everyday health and healthcare challenges faced by the general public across the country. Common health challenges addressed by PCORI research include diabetes, cancer, obesity, mortality, maternal morbidity, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and many other issues.
